After-Taste
about the project
Presented at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City and developed for RUFA’s Tracks of Freedom project, After Taste explores fast food packaging as a trace of contemporary urban consumption. The project observes discarded cups, greasy bags, and food containers not simply as waste, but as fragments of the city’s everyday life. Collected from public spaces, these objects become visual evidence of how the city is used, consumed, and left behind. Through their collection and analysis, the work traces the life cycle of packaging, from the moment of desire and purchase to its abandonment within the urban environment. What remains is a landscape of visual residues, where design outlives its original function and quietly becomes part of the city itself.
